Colors of Home was inspired by places I have called home.
Expressed in rozome, Japanese batik on kimono silk, each piece is bound with silk noil and suspended from branches of local juniper or Colorado aspen which I peeled and finished.
My life started in the Shenandoah Valley.… my Nest.
At 19, I fell in love with Colorado while working on a dude ranch near Glendevey. Forest Requiem, memorial for a fallen hummingbird, is set in the high country of the West Elk Mountains by a family cabin.
Since 1967 home has been the high desert in central New Mexico.Aspen Afternoon was inspired by the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot in the Jemez Mountains as showers of gold floated in the breeze.

Over all soars Raven, Searching for Home. Raven symbolizes our yearning for place, moving across mountains and desert, at ease in the space of eternity.
