nest: Read mountain Rozome on Kimono Silk I remember my nest home in color… For 21 years, soft blues and greens of the Western Shenandoah Valley, except in the spring, when the Blue Ridge was sprinkled with fuchsia redbud and bright white dogwood, and in fall, when crimson and vermillion maples danced with scarlet dogwoods. Where else could a cardinal be camouflaged while snacking on ripe dogwood berries?
Though loved, nurtured, and safe there, I always knew I’d move on. |
