Abdul Kareem Khadaied, owner of Khadani Fashions, invited several of us to visit his batik class in his lovely sunlit studio located at Mt Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. Lee Creswell, Fukumoto Shigeki, Rita Trefois, and I shared our own wax resist techniques with his multi-national students and then shared a delicious holiday potluck luncheon.
Lee Creswell Cambridge, UK Member of the Batik Guild, UK, and fiber artist who spoke on Ro-shibori Lee demonstrated her own batik technique.

Shigeki Fukumoto japan Rozome master, Professor of Art, Osaka University of Arts Stencils are cut from card stock		Hot wax is shaken over the stencil onto stretched silk
		Bokashi shading is done with an improvised hikezome brush

Rita Trefois Gent, Belgium Internationally known fiber artist who spoke on The Versatility and Fascination of Batik	Rita’s work celebrates the lines drawn with the canting
