Danse Macabre: The Good Coyote

Rozome on Kimono Silk, with upper and lower bands of Japanese silk.
Framed 28 x 20"
$600

The only good coyote is a dead one. (yes or no?)
This piece came from 40 years of living with coyotes in Placitas. The skull was found
by a neighbor, so this coyote lived here too.

The ring of dancing creatures— packrats, cottontails, jackrabbits, field mice
—are delighted to have one less coyote.
The Japanese fabric used in framing makes me think of rosemary and other herbs thought
to fend off the Black Death, which is carried by these small creatures.
It is all about balance.
